It is truly an honor to serve as Principal of GANDHI SCHOOL ANCOL JAKARTA. With over 31years of educational journey as teacher and administrator, I do not view the position of Principal as a job, but instead as an opportunity to lead the school to accomplish great things. The role of Principal entails many exciting opportunities associated with students and their achievements. However, most importantly, my personal and professional goal is to provide children at Gandhi school Ancol with the best educational experience possible – one that will build a foundation for life-long learning.
My mission as Principal is to always put kids first! My belief is that all students can learn, and it is our job to support all and cater to their needs. As educators, we need to discover how each child learns in order to differentiate our instruction to support diverse learning styles: be it National curriculum of Indonesia, Board of Secondary Education or Cambridge International Examinations; each child is different. I also want all children to love school! My passion for education as well as the enthusiasm of my staff will always be evident. In a collaborative effort, we want children to thrive in all possible ways and then to succeed. Our mission is to provide such an environment for all of our students at Gandhi School. To quote NELSON MANDELLA
“WITHOUT EDUCATION, YOUR CHILDREN CAN NEVER REALLY MEET THE CHALLENGES THEY WILL FACE. SO IT’S VERY IMPORTANT TO GIVE CHILDREN EDUCATION AND EXPLAIN THAT THEY SHOULD PLAY A ROLE FOR THEIR COUNTRY.”
Our school must be a place where students want to learn and have fun and then move out to serve their nation as responsible citizens and be productive members of society. It will be my endeavor to provide a learning environment that is positive, safe, caring; a fun place to learn and grow and then move out to society as confident and responsible members to serve . My goal will always to invest time in getting to know the school community – the students and the parents alike. My goal is also to provide our students the essentials needed for success in a safe and warm environment. The staff at GANDHI SCHOOL ANCOL will always work together with the priority of having every student’s best interest at heart.
My appeal to all parents is to stay involved. This can be accomplished by staying in contact with your child’s teacher. Our expectations will be to consistently make sure you are aware of your child’s progress, and answer any questions or concerns you have at any time. This form of two-way monitoring will help ensure the success of your child’s education and well-being. To conclude
Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.
I feel fortunate and blessed to be in this leadership role and welcome it every day with open arms. I am thrilled to be Principal and I am looking forward to embarking on exciting school tenure.
